Last week, a special event was held in Ottawa in honour of former Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honorable Peter Milliken. The House of Commons’ longest-serving Speaker has ended a 10-year reign this year. In attendance for this evening reception, were the Honourable Noel A. Kinsella – Speaker of the Senate, Senators, Members of the House of Commons, Ambassadors and other prominent members and guests.
Dn. Hagop Arslanian, Director of the Governmental Relations Office attended this event and congratulated the former Speaker of the House upon his many years of service and contribution to the Parliamentary life of Canada. Honorable Milliken warmly recalled and thanked the Canadian Armenian Community and Primate Galstanian for a reception in his honour, hosted by the Diocese in Montreal, in October 2010.
Dn. Arslanian also had the chance to greet Honorable Noel Kinsella-Speaker of the Senate.
