To mark the “2018 Year of Youth” proclaimed as such by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Armenian Diocese of Canada elaborated a youth interfaith project called “Celebrating Our Diversity Now”.

The Federal Government of Canada informed the Diocese about its decision to support the Project.

Within the framework of the Project:
– Four meetings-discussions will be organized in
Montreal (22-26 January, 2018),
Toronto (5-9 February, 2018),
Calgary (20-23 February, 2018),
and Vancouver (5-9 March, 2018);
– A website dedicated to the Project, and to the youth interfaith dialogue in Canada will be created;
– Newsletters will be disseminated among members of the participating religious communities, and
– A documentary movie about the same topics will be created.

The gatherings are being organized on the occasion of the World Interfaith Harmony Week proclaimed by the UN General Assembly on October 20, 2010.

The project would bring together young leaders and clergy from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, and Hindu Communities. At each meeting, each faith community will be represented by three young leaders of 18-35 years of age, and one clergy, appointed by the religious communities themselves.

It is anticipated that the Project would provide the first-hand information about the Canadian religious diversity, each other’s religions, and the ecumenical and interfaith dialogue in Canada.

We hereby invite the youth to apply for participation in the Project by submitting a Letter of Interest to
the Armenian Diocese of Canada – contact@armenianchurch.ca, or
St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Cathedral of Montreal – stgregorychurch@gmail.com;
Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Toronto – admin@torontoarmenianchurch.com;
Holy Almighty Armenian Church of Calgary – armenianchurchofcalgary@yahoo.ca;
St. Vartan Armenian Church of Vancouver – stvartan1967@yahoo.ca

In each city, three young leaders of 18-35 years of age will be selected to participate in the meetings. The participants will have to make a short presentation, that will cover one aspect of the life of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Canada.

There is no fee for participation in the meetings, and the Armenian Diocese will provide meals for the participants of the meetings.

Looking forward to receiving your applications!
