On January 10, 2017, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Diocesan Primate, Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian, Diocesan Vicar, Pastor of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church of Toronto, and Mr. Ohan Ohanessian, Parish Council Chair, met with the newly elected Board members of the Toronto chapter of Social Democrat Hunchakian Party. The meeting was held at the church.
Support to the newly arrived Syrian Armenian refugees along with other actual issues for the community, were discussed during the meeting, and the parties agreed to collaborate on these and other aspects of the community life.
