On May 10, 2015, St. Narek Armenian Apostolic Parish of Edmonton in cooperation with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese organized a special commemoration Mass dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The Service was conducted by Archbishop Richard Smith at Saint Joseph’s Basilica, accompanied by His Grace Abgar Hovakimian, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Canada, who was visiting Edmonton especially for this commemoration.
More than 1200 Christians attended the Mass. Following the Mass, faithful gathered at the Parish Hall of the Basilica, provided for the Armenian community with the compliments of the Archdiocese.
