On March 18, in Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received John Ronald Curie (residence in Moscow), the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Canada to Armenia.
During the meeting the Catholicos of All Armenians and the Ambassador spoke on the important role of the Armenian-Canadian community in different areas of Canadian life, as well as the close cooperation between the two countries.
They also touched upon the commemoration events of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, being organized in Armenia and different countries. His Holiness expressed his appreciation for the Canadian authorities recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
Expressing gratitude to His Holiness for the warm reception, the Ambassador mentioned that through his diplomatic activities, he will continue to promote the strengthening of the Armenian-Canadian relations.
The meeting was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of External Relations and Protocol Department of the Mother See.
