On Saturday, May 5, 2012 Armenian Christian Youth Movement (ACYM) organized a Youth gathering at the Diocese to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Liberation of Shushi, an important milestone in the history of the Armenian people.

Evening started by welcoming the youth of our community. A short presentation was delivered by Deacon Ivan Gyadayan emphasizing the importance of Shushi in our reality both in Armenia and Diaspora. Also, a brief video presentation took placed, prepared by Gayane Petrosyan. Gayane had documented all the victories of our nation in the 20th century and was proud to present it to us. Her work was inspiring.

One of the attendees, had photos of Shushi which he brought with him from Armenia most recently. We had the chance to see the present image of the great city of Shushi.  The purpose of this event was to shed light on the feeling of victory in our youth and help them understand that we, as nation, can come together to celebrate our hard fought victories for the preservation of our Motherland. Evening continued with Armenian music and folk dances.
