Beloved Faithful Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with deep pain and sorrow that we learned yesterday about the massive explosion that shook Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, which took away lives of more than a hundred individuals, caused immense casualties and devastation.
In this challenging time, the people of Lebanon, as well as the Armenian Community need our prayers and support.
To respond to the ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by the explosion, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, the Primate, invites our beloved brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for the repose of souls of innocent victims and for a speedy recovery of injured.
Please consider partaking in the special Prayer and Requiem Service to be held on this Sunday, August the 9th, 2020, in all the Armenian Apostolic Churches of Canada.
On this occasion, the Diocese established the Beirut Explosion Relief Fund. Everyone is invited to make heartfelt donations to the Diocese or to the local Parish. The donations will be directed to the families of innocent victims through the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
May Our Lord keep Lebanon under His Divine gaze today and forever. Amen!
