The Armenian Diocese of Canada, with support from the Government of Canada (New Horizons for Seniors Program), has implemented a “Senior Studio Art Project”. Seniors were given an opportunity to explore the cultural heritage of Montreal and Ottawa, and created personal pieces of art. Two visits to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts have been organized in the summer 2019.
After the visits to the Museum, five artistic workshops have been organized from August to October 2019, where seniors were given an opportunity to attend workshops led by the renowned artist Marine Zuloyan and to create personal pieces of art.
Upon completion of the workshops, a visit to the Senate of Canada and to the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa were organized in November 2019, followed by an exhibition and the publication of a catalog of paintings created by the project participants.
