The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Mr. Georgy Petrosyan, who was on a seven-day visit to Canada, visited the Diocese of the Armenian Church last Wednesday, and met with the Primate, His Eminence Bishop Bagrat Galstanian.

His Eminence welcomed Minister Petrosyan to Canada and congratulated the Central Committee of ANCC for undertaking such an initiative. Minister Petrosyan briefed the Primate on the works of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of NKR vis a vis Azerbaijan’s hate propaganda against Armenians and the ongoing war threats from official Baku launching a large scale military action against Nagorno Karabagh Republic. Minister Petrosyan underlined the need for a just and peaceful resolution to the NKR issue.

In turn, Primate Galstanian assured the Minister of the ongoing efforts of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Canada, with regard to NKR.  The Diocese has diligently worked, to communicate the issue of NKR to all its close friends in the decision making circles of the Government of Canada with the intent to identify and promote a just and peaceful resolution for NKR.  The commitment of the Diocese to this cause is resolute and will continue with steadfast determination and unwavering commitment.

Following the meeting, Serpazan hosted a luncheon in honor of Minister Petrosyan at Vatche Hovsepian Hall of the Cathedral with the participation of representatives of different Armenian organizations and cultural unions of Montreal.
