On May 5, 2019, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate, during the Divine Liturgy, announced that with His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians pontifical blessings, Rev. Fr. Hayari Tanashian, Parish Priest of St. Mesrob Armenian Church of Ottawa, has been bestowed the privilege of wearing a Pectoral Cross (Lanjakhach).
After the ceremony, Primate presided over and ordained 9 of altar servants of Holy Cross Armenian Church of Laval to the rank of acolytes.
