THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF 2003-2004
The Department implemented a standardized Calendar of Events for the School year 2003-2004.
This Calendar was unique for the schools to follow and concentrate on the same topic on the same date. A second feature to the Calendar was the inception of The Theme of The Month, whereby, the Schools in the Department would highlight a theme or a virtue each month coinciding with the Calendar of Feast Days of the Diocese Armenian Apostolic Church of Canada.
The Department instigated an immediate circulation of a curriculum based on St Catharines Sunday School. Those parishes who had curriculum to begin with added the new curriculum to their existing curriculum. Parishes just beginning to formulate a curriculum adapted the one supplied as a base for their individual requirements and unique needs.
The Department initiated a Childrens Armenian Christmas Celebration to accentuate our distinctive heritage amongst the young. Plans were made in Montreal and in Toronto to have these celebrations in January.
