Family Support Services Hay Doun is a non-profit community organization that provides social services and civic education to Quebecers of Armenian origin as well as to the Quebecers in the community at large. This mission was established in 2007 by the efforts of His Eminence Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, then Primate of the Armenian Diocese.
FSS Hay Doun responds to the needs of individuals and families and provides tools that foster dignity, self-reliance and inclusion. Hay Doun provides services to a diverse population and is especially responsive to the vulnerable members of the community. Their clientele includes; immigrants and refugees, individuals, couples and families in difficulty, seniors, persons with disabilities or any other person seeking assistance or support.

Objectives
- To make the existing health, social and community resources, provided by hospitals, CLSCs, and various organizations more accessible to the Armenian community;
- To serve as a liaison between the social service resources and the Armenian community;
- To create a network of solidarity and intracommunity support that will take into account the contribution of the community members (volunteers, business persons, professionals, artists, etc.);
- To develop and provide services for the community as needed.
History: Hay Doun was inspired from the vision that a healthy community prospers when it concerns itself with the needs of the individuals who constitute it. In 2005, some members of the Armenian community decided to found a non-profit organization to assist members who could not access existing social services mainly due to language barriers, lack of knowledge of the social services offered to them in their local community or cultural differences in their approach to the problems faced. Supported by the Armenian Diocese of Canada and the community, Hay Doun was inaugurated on April 1st 2007. The first General Assembly of Trustees took place on November 16th, 2008. Since its inception, in addition to providing assistance to the Armenian community, Hay Doun also intervenes and helps Quebecers from all origins. It is through similar actions that we can build bridges and foster intra and inter-community solidarity.
Volunteers: Volunteers are the pillars of Hay Doun. Our actions would not have the same impact without their continued commitment. Volunteering is ageless.
